Turnkey

Complete plants

From planning and construction through to operation, we deliver industrial biogas plants that turn waste materials and biomass into energy.

Yield from waste

From biogenic waste materials and biomass, we generate energy. This reduces environmental impact.

Who we are

We emerged in 2011 from the merger of medium-sized companies. Since then, we have brought together expertise in civil engineering, project planning, renewable energy, biorefinery and biogas under one roof.

We develop innovative and sustainable energy solutions that reduce environmental impact while remaining economically viable. International cooperation and knowledge transfer are part of this work, because biomass use and bioenergy need local answers in many places.

What our work can be measured by

Nitrogen-rich substrates

Dried poultry manure and other nitrogen-rich farm manures inhibit the biology of many plants. We digest these substrates: in Pajam, Malaysia, a 900 kW plant runs as mono-digestion with 100% dried poultry manure. The NEVO research project continues this work with poultry manure.

Lab to existing plants

We work at both ends of the same chain: gas yield tests and laboratory fermenters on one side, repowering of existing plants on the other. We develop new plants of our own up to 50 kW, and we have upgraded existing plants of up to 12 MW — GEMES Saalfeld in wet fermentation, Neue Energie Schmölln in dry fermentation.

Own measurement tools

Gas meters for quantitative analyses and laboratory pumps for media with high solids content come from our own development. This also includes upstream systems such as sand cyclones for contaminant separation and high-performance filters for digestate water. This technology is part of our development chain, not merely bought in.

Research becomes product

We treat DNA-based rapid tests, modification of microbial populations and percolation processes as precursors to plants and products. This work led, among other things, to Cockpit Explorer, WasteCon and Village-Biogas. For us, research does not end in a report, but in the next technical step.

Supply without grids

We develop decentralised modules for places where infrastructure is missing or fails. These include the biogas plant and research container in Malaysia, cooperation in Thailand and the develoPPP project UKRAINE ENERGY AUTARK. That project focuses on decentralised BIOPOWER modules and training Ukrainian specialists.

From the laboratory fermenter to the plant in operation

Seven fields that belong together: we plan and build the plants, prepare the biomass for them, develop the measuring technology and support operators whose plant is already running.

01

Biogas plants

Planning, construction and operation of industrial plants form our core business. We develop and distribute plants in the performance class up to 50 kW. This includes special solutions for dried poultry manure and other nitrogen-rich farm manure.

02

Small biogas plants (Village-Biogas)

We build compact systems for private and commercial users. With Village-Starter and Village-Smart, we select the suitable model according to demand and usable waste type. The plants generate energy and heat directly on site.

03

Container units (WasteCon)

For restaurants, hotels and municipal facilities, we manufacture fully automated container biogas plants. Users gain biogas and fertiliser from biogenic waste materials in flexible, mobile units with minimal maintenance.

04

Laboratory

We supply highly functional and cost-efficient equipment for research and development in biogas and anaerobic technology. Specially developed gas meters enable quantitative analyses. Laboratory pumps also convey media with high solids content.

05

Upstream systems

With our own developments, we prepare biomass use. For example, we plan and make sand cyclones for contaminant separation and high-performance filters for digestate water.

06

Consulting services

For large-scale biomass projects, we manage the process from preliminary design through to execution. This includes planning special and renewable power plant structures. Operators of existing biogas and wastewater treatment plants also work with us on troubleshooting and repowering.

07

Development and market launch of own products

Through ongoing development, we bring new industrial biogas plants, control software and upstream systems to market. With these products, we prepare biogenic waste for energy generation.

Capabilities from research and market launch

Alongside plant engineering, we work on processes and products for bioenergy and wastewater technology. This section is about the capabilities behind the references: processes, measurement methods, microbial systems and transfer into marketable products.

Energy-autonomous wastewater treatment plants

We develop and implement technologies that enable wastewater treatment plants to cover their own energy demand.

Project
COCKPIT EXPLORER
The first step

It starts with the question of what a material stream can yield. Gas yield tests in the laboratory answer it before a plant is planned.
