SP23 Duplex Bioreactor

Description

• Its size, with a capacity of approx. 23 l, and its variability with regard to the sensors and accessories that can be attached, as well as the possibility of inserting a stainless steel sieve basket into the fermenter, allow among other things trials with bulk materials in the percolation process or use as an anaerobic filter.
• The fermenter is closed gas-tight quickly and reliably by means of a tension chain closure. Prepared 3/4 inch threaded connections allow probes to be mounted both on the base section and on the lid.

Possible applications

1) Percolation reactor

With the stainless steel sieve basket supplied it is possible to carry out trials with bulk materials in the percolation process. Below the sieve basket there is enough space (approx. 3 litres) to simulate an integrated process water reservoir. The adjustable pump conveys the process water from the lower area through a media line, so that it is introduced above the sieve basket and evenly distributed.

2) Anaerobic filter

Either the fermenter or the sieve basket can be filled with carrier bodies (not included) in order to realise an anaerobic filter.

3) Fermentation of pumpable feedstocks

The fermenter can of course also be used to ferment pumpable substrates. The sieve basket is not required for this.
